After spending three weeks in Mexico it felt great to be back in the states. We headed back to Austin to regroup before heading further west.

The Texas rest areas are some of the nicest we have seen across the country.
While in Austin we checked out another local climbing area, Reimer’s Ranch. At only 30 minutes outside of Austin, Reimer’s Ranch provides super convenient sport climbing for the Austin climber. The routes are all pocketed limestone and pretty fun, albeit short.

Joanna finishes up between the prickly pears on The Great Unknown (5.11a).

JP takes on the top crux section of Dead Cats (5.10c) while Steve belays.
We couldn’t leave Texas without some barbecue, so we tried out three different bbq spots. The best of which was Salt Lick in Driftwood. Thanks for the suggestion Corinne!

Salt Lick BBQ, so good!
